The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka Program (MBKM) facilitates students for activities outside their study program for 3rd semesters. This is intended to fulfill the Capaian Pembelajaran Lulusan (CPL) determined by study programs with different learning models and opportunities to gain additional competencies for students. It is also aimed at increasing student competency by learning directly from the job market. So, students can learn outside the college by doing this internship. Through this program, students are expected to be able to train hard skills and soft skills, have a clear view of careers and the job market, and increase opportunities for direct recruitment before or after students graduate.
In 2022/2023, the IR Department sent around 60 students for internships of Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka Program (PKKM) Grant. Students did the internship in the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) East Java II, which included the Regional Office of DJBC East Java II and Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC) Tipe Madya in Kediri, Blitar, Jember, Probolinggo, and Banyuwangi. In addition, some students also participated in internships at the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Planning (P3AKB), Bondowoso and PT Vanadia Utama Jakarta. The ceremony to start the program was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Jember to Drs. Oentarto Wibowo, MAP (Kanwil) DJBC East Java II, Anisatul Hamidah, S.Ag., S.H., M.Sc., M.Kn. (Head of Social Service and P3AKB Bondowoso), and Purba Purnama, Ph.D (Director of PT Vanadia Utama).
