In his coverage with the theme “Operation Unicorn & London Bridge After Queen Elizabeth's Passed Away”, Dr. Trihartono was invited as a guest commentator in the program. Through an online platform, Dr. Trihartono gave some insights on the topic.
The loss of Queen Elizabeth certainly has an impact on the sustainability of the UK, especially in terms of how the world views the UK. According to Dr. Agus, Queen Elizabeth's role as queen is extraordinary. How a queen has a symbolic role that ultimately succeeded in winning the hearts and minds of the citizens of the United Kingdom and 15 commonwealth countries through her soft power. He emphasized that Britain could be a wealthy country, have good military power or hard power, but would Britain still be a beloved country? That will be a challenge for Britain in the future.
Queen Elizabeth's role during her leadership was considered much loved by British citizens because of her unique leadership style. Dr. Agus explained that the role taken by Queen Elizabeth in responding to pressure is to take a position without making the situation worse. Elegant, organized, and calculating are the keys to her leadership style according to Dr. Agus. So, even though behind the scenes Queen Elizabeth still holds a big key to public attention to her constitution.
Regarding the next leadership, there will be many challenges after the departure of Queen Elizabeth. Dr. Agus explained that the position of a queen is an important element to strengthen branding both domestically and internationally. The character of the queen must also be "clean" and can meet public expectations as a "queen". Thus, the next leadership, Charles, must work very hard to get the previous image carried by Queen Elizabeth. What the next leadership does must be able to meet public expectations, at least as British as Queen Elizabeth's leadership. Although the image of this soft power element will certainly be reduced.
Finally, the death of Queen Elizabeth for the British Commonwealth countries and Indonesia could also be affected. Dr. Agus explained that Indonesia and the UK are not directly related because the calculations are different. But he again emphasized how Indonesia loves the UK, or makes the UK a nation model that will also be different if the leader is no longer Queen Elizabeth. This is because England is also an important part of many world organizations in which Indonesia is included, such as the G20, education centers, mass media and others. So the role of a symbolic leader of this kingdom is important in playing its soft power elements.
