Reducing Non-voters among Youth Generation: IR students become Speakers at RRI JEMBER

Three International Relations students from the University of Jember were invited as guest speakers in the Smart Voting Movement (Gerakan Cerdas Memilih) program held by Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Jember. They are Gilang Ariantama, Annisa Rizkyta, and Pelangi Sinartya Anadan Sasmito. They introduced and explained how youth can take part in the elections that will take place in 2024.

Gerakan Cerdas Memilih (GCM) is a program held by RRI in educating and succeeding the General Election (Pemilu) in 2024. The existence of this program is inseparable from the rise of young people who are still less concerned with elections, especially in Jember Regency. Therefore, the 3 students who are also Research Assistants at the Center for Research in Social Sciences and Humanities (CRiSSH) UNEJ provide education about general elections for youth. They told stories about their experiences in the general elections they had participated in, gave tips on how youth should deal with elections, and gave tricks and tips on choosing presidential and legislative candidates who will compete in the 2024 elections.
