IR lecturers participated in The XIV National Convention of the Indonesian International Relations Association (AIHII)

The XIV National Convention of the Indonesian International Relations Association (AIHII) was held in the General TNI Mulyono Hall, Faculty of Social Sciences, General Achmad Yani University (Unjani), Cimahi City, October 17, 2023.

With the theme 'Strengthening Indonesia's Defense, Security, Economic, Social and Political Capabilities in the Digital Era', the convention was attended by 210 academics representing 70 universities throughout Indonesia. The agenda was filled with exposures of publications in national and international journals, meetings of professors, practitioners and academics of International Relations (IR) throughout Indonesia, and organizational sessions.

The University of Jember was represented by 3 lecturers of International Relations who had previously passed the paper selection stage (which was used as academic and journal exposure). The three lecturers were Prof. Dr. Abubakar Eby Hara, Dr. Agus Trihartono, and Dr. Suyani Indriastuti.

During the academic presentation, Prof. Dr. Abubakar Eby Hara together with Dr. Agus Trihartono, explained about the Indonesian spice route as an alternative to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) concept that previously proposed by China. Meanwhile, Dr. Suyani as the head of the IR Department of University of Jember also presented a paper about international political economy and participated in the organizational session.

The XIV National Convention is an annual agenda held by AIHII. The convention was held not only to present academic articles and journals, but also to provide recommendations to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) on foreign policy.
